The Creative Director is responsible for leadership and management of the creative product on assigned clients in the New York office. He/she will provide creative direction, oversee the scheduling of creative work and concept development. The Creative Director will also be responsible for presenting concepts to clients, new business presentations and briefs as required.
The ideal candidate is a leader and team player who enjoys creative collaboration, finds innovative and creative solutions, understands the idiosyncrasies of a an ad agency and works well under pressure.
What you'll do:
You will create, conceptualize and design campaigns and projects for any and all of the agency's clients
You will ensure concepts developed by the agency are on strategy, practical, follow standard direct mail practices and cost-effective to produce
You will manage the development of creative work for new business pitches as and existing clients,
You will oversee Studio Manager in the allocation and scheduling of work within the Creative Department
You will ensure the creative work of the agency is produced to the highest standards of accuracy and quality control;
You will remain up-to-date on the latest developments in direct marketing best practices;
You will recommend improvements and changes to the agency's processes and procedures and employ best practices to ensure the smooth operation of the creative team;
You will develop and grow the skills and experience of the creative team and seek and hire new talent as required.
Who you are:
You will have sound understanding of integrated direct marketing principles
You will have proven staff management skills with experience in handling direct reports
You will be highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects, and allocate work to the remainder of the team
You will have strong understanding of strategic direction and direct mail;
You will have excellent conceptual and design skills;
You will have a very accurate with high attention to detail;
You will have excellent visual and verbal communication skills;
You will be a highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude.
Bachelor of Fine Arts/Communication, or equivalent degree in commercial arts or related field preferred;
Minimum of 10 years experience as Marketing Art Director, with 5 years as Associate Creative Director or Creative Director desired;
Wide ranging portfolio focused on direct marketing campaigns with a strong print emphasis including conceptual, design and production expertise.
