The Creative Designer position will assist Design/Merchandising teams in the development of women's innerwear. This is a highly organizational role that provides both administrative and creative assistance from concept to final development. The Creative Designer will support the Hanes Innerwear Design Team from initial concept through product delivery. This role will assist bringing new designs to life partnering with product management & sales partners through story telling trend boards and stylesheets.

This will be a 6 month assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and maintains color swatch library & Input seasonal color palettes and mill sheets into necessary software. (Photoshop/Illustrator/ PLM)

  • Support design team members in creation of CADs, fabric/lace developments, fittings, presentations, and working alongside key cross-functional partners throughout the design development process

  • Create and maintain CAD work for style development & line sheets

  • Assist designers to build seasonal color swatch, trend, and presentation boards.

  • Initiate PLM tech packs and updates throughout all stages of design development process; responsible for accurate PLM style creation, BOM data entry, inputs colorway details

  • Assisting and conducting fittings and relaying the information back to our overseas partners.

  • Collaborate with Merchandising team of specific needs and updates on seasonal Deck

  • Collaborate and follow up on deliverables and deadlines with all cross-functional partners throughout the design process

  • Facilitates organization and maintenance of prototypes and SMS

  • Tracks sourced materials development (fabric, elastics, lace, trims, etc.)

  • Communicate daily with cross-functional partners and overseas vendors (including sourcing requests, materials qualification, project management inquiries, and general follow up)

  • Attends occasional meetings/conference calls to support and represent design team

  • Sets up and maintains tracking spreadsheets

  • Assists and supports special projects as requested

  • Research competitor and related products

  • Assist in development of textiles/garment construction

  • Assist designers on all steps of development process

  • Demonstrates a passion for innerwear design and the Hanes Brand

  • Mentor Assistant Designer and/or design intern

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Minimum Education/ Experience: Bachelor's degree with 7+ years relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree

  • Preferred Education/ Experience: Master's degree with 5+ year relevant work experience

  • Proficient in both Mac/ PC; Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, Acrobat) Microsoft Office proficient (Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint)

  • Highly creative and collaborative environment

  • Highly motivated, passionate, and results-oriented and highly organized with attention to detail

  • Ability to apply technical/creative concepts with strong communication/ presentation skills

  • Knowledge of technical fit and construction a plus
  • Expected to know the innerwear marketplace and competition

  • Exceptional talent with commercial eye and detail in innerwear product knowledge

  • Elevated taste level & ability to interpret trends into high volume saleable product

  • Ability to multi-task, drive for problem solving, and react with speed and agility

  • Strong knowledge of Web PLM and building of Bill of Materials

  • Strong CAD skills in creating foundations CADs/blocks, lace and trim rendering, detailed styling updates, and CAD recoloring

  • Multi-tasking, ability to manage multiple priority projects/ development calendars

  • Must be able to work well within a team environment

  • Self-directed and self-motivated, individual contributor, ability to work independently

The pay range for this role is $114,000 - $172,000 per year.
