Flatiron is looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators.

Flatiron is a company that values the safety of its workforce above all else. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you must will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Perform various operator/laborer duties on our projects in the Winston Salem, North Carolina area.

  • Safe operator of the equipment including but not limited to backhoes, excavators, blades, and loaders

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience preferred. We are NOT looking for someone with entry level or minimal experience.

  • Certification of Crane Operators preferred

  • Must value and have an appreciation for completing all work duties and assignments safely

  • Must be a team player

  • Willingness to travel to this and other job sites as necessary

  • Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned

  • DOT work a plus

VIEW JOBS 10/30/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-28T00:00 As a General Superintendent, you will schedule, coordinate and supervise activities of workers (laborers, operators, carpenters, finishers, etc.) engaged on designated project; typically oversee multiple projects and supervises multiple superintendents. Responsibilities * Promote and enforce compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented * Mentor and coach superintendents as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements * Actively participate in safety meetings * Provide positive safety leadership to the project * Review field operation and ensure that the project provides a safe workplace * Supervise superintendents assigned to area of responsibility and provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and crafts to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications * Participate in bid review to determine schedule, estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project * Participate in project presentations to elected officials, general public and other stake holders * Coordinate with project staff to outline workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority * Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget * Review status and modify schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, owners, and subcontractors as needed * Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems * Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies * Work closely with Company employees, project supervisors, owners, external teams and support people to get commitments regarding PM's managerial and supervisory requests * Manage subcontractor, owner and public relations * Set productive, consistent, and acceptable work example * Coordinate material purchases, assure that subcontractor agreements are prepared and change orders are accurate and issued to owners, subcontractors and suppliers * Resolve construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required * Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules * Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties * Coordinate sub-contractors onsite * Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan * Support published corporate policies * Perform additional assignments per management's direction Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 9 years of construction field experience and/or training * Or 12 years of heavy highway or civil construction related experience and/or training * Management experience of medium sized teams required * Expert knowledge of tool & equipment safety Flatiron Construction Corp.
