The Craft/Import Beer Sales Representative will be accountable for ensuring that sales goals are met by strategically increasing sales volume through sustainable growth. This position involves a considerable amount of time in market visiting on premise and off premise retailers, educating and building existing and new relationships in order to forge strong partnerships.

  • Responsible for selling in High End products & programs to the assigned retailer route.

  • Responsible for increasing distribution and volume across the key on premise and key off-premise accounts.

  • Follow consistent store visit schedule and input into assigned system

  • Build relationship with local wholesaler team(s): sales reps, merchandiser, team leads, sign-shop, etc.

  • Assist wholesaler representative with the selling-in of trade solutions, sampling activations, and POC placement

  • Implement sales performance measures and targets using brand priorities with wholesalers while assisting in achieving expected results.

  • Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, sales data tools, and changes in climate, competitive activity and special promotional activities.

  • Utilize sales history, data tools, and competitive activity to manage territory and retailers.

  • Promote and build brand awareness of assigned portfolio

  • Execute events and promotional activities - sampling, engraving, training (may include evenings and weekends)

  • Review target account analysis and reports to ensure brands are performing at the top of class levels for all assigned accounts.

  • Establish and monitor quality control standards. Communicate with all departments as necessary.

  • Improve velocity in accounts by building displays, driving distribution, resetting coolers, displaying POS items, educating retail employees, hand selling, sampling, securing features, and developing promotional programs.

  • Ensures product is properly priced and POP is compliant

  • Utilize AB sales tools for daily activities and to report out activities Knowledge and adherence of local alcoholic beverage laws

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Profound knowledge of craft beer and brewing process

  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to adjust a message to the audience

  • Highly-creative' able to generate fresh, impactful ideas and see them through to implementation

  • Proven ability to think and move between strategic and analytical thinking as well as actual execution

  • Ability to coordinate brand information, supply POS material, and keep lines of communication open with state's wholesaler network in order to better sell through products. Ability to own budgetary responsibility and execute against timelines

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors' Degree in Sales, Business or related field

  • Certified Cicerone or Certified Beer Server licensing preferred

  • 1-3 years experience in Distribution, Outside Sales, Food/Beverage or related industry

Physical Requirements

  • Conducts working in a sitting and standing position primarily: however, job requires walking, bending, stooping and light lifting

VIEW JOBS 3/3/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-06-01T00:00 Job Description We are seeking an On/Off Premise Beer Sales Representative for our Chicago, IL territory. The Beer Sales Representative works alongside distributor partners and local supplier distributor manager to ensure the successful sale, volume growth, distribution, brand presence and positioning of the supplier's portfolio, working within a set list of on-premise accounts and/or a territory of large and small format off-premise accounts throughout the assigned territory. This role, pending safety measures and travel restrictions due to COVID-19, may have periods of travel, up to 35% throughout the year. Here's just a small sample of what you'll be doing. Job responsibilities may shift in response to local/state ordinances related to COVID-19. * Pursue new opportunities for distribution and impact local market to upsell, secure multiple SKU distribution, cooler visibility and displays * Work closely with local distributor manager and distributor partner to collaborate on goals and objectives and ensure proper product inventory and proactively manage OOS issues * Provide training to accounts on brand/product(s) to include ingredients and pairings, brewing process, history, quality and current trends * Maintain store shelf standards and inventory, including rotation of products, checking date codes, processing restocks and reorders as necessary according to the planogram standards * Sell-in and build brand displays according to off-premise standards * Execute POS programs to standard * Ensure compliance of all alcoholic beverage regulations * Assist in executing impactful promotions and educational presentations, both independently and with team members, at accounts * Utilize on-line database and systems to track all territory progress * Maintain open communication with field and HQ * Manage budget and maintain records for monthly reconciliation Here's what we need from you: * Bachelor's Degree required * Must be 21 years or older * 2-4 years demonstrated sales experience, preferably in beers, wines and spirits * Previous retail, on-premise, or off-premise work experience is a plus * Experience as a Bartender, Waitress, Bar Management, Distributor Sales Rep, etc. a strong plus * Must live in assigned territory * Must have access to reliable transportation - large vehicle preferred * Must be willing to travel within assigned sales region * May be required to travel to specific markets Monday through Thursday, with some overnight travel * Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently * Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale * Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed This full-time position offers a competitive base salary, bonus potential, and a full suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO and more!
