PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Crafter Trainer is responsible for planning, preparing, instructing, and guiding adult learners through the NCCER CORE and NCCER Craft-specific modules. This role requires delivering high-quality, engaging education in both English and Spanish to meet the stated learning objectives. The aim is to support the development of skilled professionals who can contribute to sustainable energy, chemicals, and resources projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Delivery
Conduct engaging and effective training sessions for adult learners in both English and Spanish, ensuring comprehension and retention of NCCER CORE and craft-specific modules.
Preparation of Materials
Customize and prepare instructional materials, including guides, handouts, workbooks, audio-visual aids, and simulations, ensuring readiness before class start times.
Instructional Techniques
Utilize effective adult learning techniques to address various learning styles, ensuring the achievement of learning objectives.
Collaboration
Work closely with local site management and Corporate Workforce Development Division to schedule and conduct NCCER CORE training sessions.
Performance Evaluation
Facilitate one-on-one field performance evaluations for craft modules, maintaining accurate records as students progress through the program.
Classroom Management
Set up and clean up classrooms, manage equipment, and ensure all teaching aids are in working order before and after sessions.
Clinical Settings Arrangement
Organize clinical settings for hands-on training as required by the course.

What you will bring
Certifications
Certification in construction trades (e.g., Master Welder, Master Electrician) or any construction trades training certification is preferred. NCCER Instructor certification or willingness to complete NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) and NCCER Performance Evaluator Training is required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or High School Equivalency.
Minimum of five years of industry experience in construction or related trades.
Seven years of subject-related industry experience preferred. Teaching or corporate training experience is advantageous.
Knowledge
Understanding of course delivery processes and adult learning principles.
Expertise in curriculum and training design, instructional methods, and assessing student learning outcomes.
Proficiency in the subject matter relevant to the discipline being taught.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
Competence in implementing new strategies and reengineering existing processes.
Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques.
Abilities
Ability to engage students in the learning process and work effectively with diverse constituencies.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Capability to plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and modify instructional processes.
Technical Skills
Adequate knowledge of learning management systems, e-learning platforms, and web delivery tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Physical Effort
Moderate physical activity, including lifting, pushing, pulling of classroom furniture, materials, and equipment up to 30 pounds.
Standing for extended periods and keyboard manipulation.
Working Conditions
Work performed in interior/office settings and field evaluations in construction environments.
Work schedule from Monday to Friday, dependent on site schedule.
Technology / Software
Adequate knowledge of learning management systems, e-learning platforms, and web delivery tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
