CRA Mortgage Loan Officer

Summary Description

nbkc is currently looking for a CRA Mortgage Loan Officer to join the Bank Lending team.

This position will work @Flex (a combination of both in the office and at home) out of our Kansas City, MO office.

What you'll do

• Originate, develop, and manage Community Reinvestment Act qualifying mortgage loans

• Create powerful strategic partnerships with local and state officials, non-profit community development organizations and public sector development agencies to establish priorities and identify needs in the communities they serve.

• Maintain and preserve existing referral sources by regular sales calls and personal client meeting

• Conduct pre-qualification interviews with prospective borrowers to discuss the different loan programs and products that are available.

• Review and analyze documentation for initial assessment regarding whether the borrower may qualify for a particular lending solution.

• Take loan applications either by telephone, in person, virtually, fax or email.

• Enter loan information for prospective borrowers onto Encompass.

• Review new loan packages prior to submission to ensure the minimum required documents are included for the new loan submission

• Submit new loan packages to Operations for processing and credit decisioning.

• Provide appropriate follow-up and meet with borrowers in obtaining required documentation from processing through closing to ensure a timely closing

• Follows all applicable laws and regulations.

• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred, High school diploma or GED required

• S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS required

• 5+ years of mortgage origination experience

• 5+ years outside sales experience in a banking environment

• Thorough knowledge of CRA mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends

• Demonstrate new business development and relationship management skills

• Outstanding verbal and written business communication skills

• Experience with Encompass mortgage software
