Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of CPU Implementation experience.FAMILIARITY WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE MICROPROCESSOR ARCHITECTUREKnowledge of logic design principles along with timing and power implicationsUNDERSTANDING OF LOW POWER MICROARCHITECTURE AND IMPLEMENTATION TECHNIQUESDesign experience in deep submicron technologies and basic device physics

Experience with scripting in Perl and C is a must


As a CPU Power Engineer you'll be responsible for overall dynamic and static power of the core for different applicable use cases. You'll drive budgeting, measurement and analysis of CPU power and provide global methodologies for power reduction across micro-architecture and gate-level design spaces

Generate and drive new ideas in micro-architecture and/or circuits to reduce CPU power across the dynamic range.Drive budgeting, measurement and analysis of overall CPU power for many use cases of interest

Will work extensively with Micro-architects & Physical designers to study power reduction opportunitiesMODELING OF POWER FOR NEWER CPU ARCHITECTURES

Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Technical responsibility of pre-silicon validation, architectural or micro-architectural aspects of CPU validation. Understanding micro-architecture specification, defining validation strategy, identifying test cases, documenting test plans and regression debug. Developing validation content like tools, test generators to match the complexity of the CPU core and be reused in pre-silicon and post-silicon. Collaborating and communicating with architecture, design, pre-silicon and post-silicon validation, and other teams across Intel to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits: Strong communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem solving skills and debugging skills along with ability to deal with ambiguity. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. In this position, you will be a member of the CPU verification team and responsible for defining and implementing pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation strategies to exhaustively validate the architecture and micro-architecture changes. Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have a M.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 1+yrs of experience in the following areas: At BS level this U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Minimum 6 months of experience in: * Advanced concepts of computer architecture and digital system design. * Logic design with a hardware modeling language, such as Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog. * Verification concepts and test environment languages like Specman, System Verilog UVM/OVM. * Logic simulation tools, such as the Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics toolchains. * Programming experience in at least one language: C/C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, TCL, etc. Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of X86 assembly language. * Experience in pre-silicon verification/validation work through internship or course work.
