Key Qualifications

  • You should have 5+ years of CPU verification experience. In-depth knowledge CPU microarchitecture including both CPU core pipeline and multi-CPU memory system.- You should have Expertise in driving random test generators and writing/debugging assembly based tests.- Experience with advanced verification techniques such as formal and assertions a plus.- Experience in silicon bringup a plus.

    Should be a great teammate with excellent communication skills, be able to work independently on the verification efforts for a block/area of the design. Some travel may be required

Description

As a CPU top level verification engineer owning the verification tasks from the top level of the CPU, you will have the responsibilities as follows:Work closely with architecture and RTL designers on verifying the functional correctness of the design

Develop test plans that cover the full functionality of the CPUDevelop stimulus by writing directed test cases in assembly

Develop stimulus by driving random test generation tools

Develop coverage monitors and analyze coverage to ensure all the test scenarios are covered

Debug waveforms to debug issues and isolate them down to root cause across the full multi-CPU design.

Education

BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required.

We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one of Samsung's strategic investments in high performance low power ARM based device technology. Our CPU design teams develop IP for Samsung mobile products and their Application Processor (AP). Our GPU design teams, located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL), are developing a custom GPU that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products. Contribute to the functional verification of CPU's or GPU's in high performance low power ARM based device technology. Learn the architecture and micro architecture by studying specifications and direct interaction with architects and logic designers of the CPU and GPU. Responsibilities Include: * Learn the architecture and micro architecture by studying specifications and direct interaction with architects and logic designers of the CPU. * Develop test plans, test benches and tests, creating sequencers, drivers, checkers, and monitors in a UVM environment. * Enhance test benches and tests to achieve coverage goals. * Apply formal methods to supplement stimulus based verification. * Create and support test environments for different design hierarchy levels. * Support unit and super-unit debug on simulation and emulation platforms. Experience Requirements: * Experienced with verification methodology such UVM/VMM/OVM. UVM is preferred. * Developed test plans of complex systems containing multiple state machines and protocol rules. * Composed functional coverage assertions, preferably using system Verilog. The qualified candidate will possess the following: * Actively pursuing a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of study with minimum of 3.5 GPA. * At least 0 + years of industry experience, of which focus in a design verification role. * Proficient in System Verilog, C++, Python/Perl. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
