Trinity Industries is seeking a CPQ Programmer/Analyst in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters.

The Sr. Programmer/Analyst will facilitate the architecture, design, development and implementation of CPQ (Configuration, Pricing & Quoting) system. This role will be a hands-on role with direct input and oversight in various high visibility projects from inception to delivery. Strong technology leadership, vision and strategic thinking are a must. This position will directly partner with the business to execute building a state of the art CPQ solution. This role will transition to the spin-off company Arcosa, Inc. late in 2018.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a business problem. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

  • Drives consensus for a desired future state that meets the business problem and enterprise objectives.

  • Can uncover needs that business partners and end users would not be able to articulate on their own.

  • Identify enterprise wide opportunities for solution leverage

  • Develops requirements from business to functional to technical levels of detail

  • Ability to manage requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives

  • Understands business process complexity

  • Influences business partner requirements in support of enterprise objectives

  • Ability to deliver quality solutions that meet or exceed Business expectations

  • Ability to create solutions that advance enterprise architectural objectives including an understanding of the dependencies between the layers of the technology stack including compute, data, transactional and analytics.

  • Guide solution options and business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target architecture

  • Identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise services

  • Guide and manages interactions with technology vendors

  • Ability to design solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement

  • Can identify the requirements to ensure end-to-end service performance from the end user's perspective

  • Can gain business sponsor commitment for additional resources required to ensure usability

What you'll need:

  • BS or 8+ years equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated experience with the following areas: Oracle CPQ (BigMachines), Salesforce Sales Cloud integration

  • Knowledge in BML (Big Machines syntax), Java servlet, JSP, Spring Framework, JSF, PrimeFaces, and web integration servers

  • Experience in SOAP based web services (Oracle SOA, Dell Boomi, Informatica in the Cloud)

  • At least 8+ years experience with e-Business or web based programming languages/technologies such as: Java, JavaScript, Python, JQuery, XML/XSL, CSS, HTML, PHP, Ajax, node.js, Angular JS

  • Software requirements development methods including agile user stories creation

  • Manufacturing industry experience, with knowledge of one or more of the core process domains of master data management, customer relationship management, production, inventory management, distribution and logistics, order acquisition, product lifecycle management, services delivery, enterprise asset management, solution development expertise

  • Business process design experience and track record of promoting process improvement

  • Previous Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Development Processes (agile, iterative) experience. Hands on solution design and implementation through to production support and/or retirement. Large scale systems deployment experience is a plus.

  • Business case/benefits case development expertise

  • BigMachines Yellow / Blue Belt Certified (BIG PLUS)

  • Experience in MDM (Master Data Management)

  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Effective Written Communication and Presentation Skills

  • Demonstrated Cross Functional Teamwork and Collaboration
