Accounting firm in Richmond is looking for an experienced CPA to join our full-service accounting firm. This position offers excellent opportunity and benefits for the right individual. We are uniquely prepared to provide our clients proactive year round guidance and services, including tax, audit, business valuations and estate and trust administration and planning.
What You Will Be Doing

Maintains accounting, payroll, and tax of diversified group of businesses.

Assist in tax planning for clients

Tax research for clients and colleagues

Preparation and review of federal income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and not-for-profit organizations

Managing appropriate due dates

Supervision of staff

Working closely with tax managers and partners

Maintaining client contacts and communication

Delegating responsibility and work assignments
What You Need for this Position

More Than 5 Years of experience and knowledge of:

Bachelors degree in Accounting

Certified Public Accountant

Four years of recent public accounting experience

Computer and technology skills

  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.

  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.

  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.

  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • File payroll, quarterly taxes, annual taxes.

The Customer Trainer will provide training support to our customers by offering in-person, telephonic and other digital learning opportunities to their assigned accounts. Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities * Demonstrates strong customer relationship skills by cultivating, maintaining, and engaging customers on Thomson Reuters products to promote usage and revenue growth objectives; makes customers and their interests a primary focus of one's actions. * Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods necessary for Law firms to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea from prospects and clients. Partners with client managers/product specialists to meet territory goals. * Desires and acquires knowledge within specialized practice areas to effectively understand the overall needs of the customer * Exhibits a positive service aptitude, and can identify opportunities within accounts; understands competitor products and builds effective relationships and product solutions to build preference for Thomson Reuters products * Relishes ongoing, self-initiated learning; assimilates new information quickly, welcomes feedback and applies knowledge to practical use on the job. Responsibilities include: * Provides product training and demonstrations for existing and/or potential customers through customer visits and online training * Works with Client Managers, Account Executives and Management teams in achieving regional and divisional goals * Builds strong relationships within accounts to help identify opportunities for up-selling and new products sales. * Assist in developing, marketing, and conducting training classes at customer locations * Maintains a superior level of knowledge and understanding/expertise on Westlaw, Practical Law and other products and practice areas relevant to law firm customers. * Maintains high level of knowledge and understanding of the business, systems, promotions and Thomson Reuter's objectives and all other applications as appropriate. * Closely partners with appropriate field team and others on a formal and informal basis to achieve customer training and usage/revenue goals as well as overall customer satisfaction. * Accurately log and report daily activities via various business systems. * Perform other related duties/special projects as directed by management in a timely and accurate manner. Qualifications: * J.D. degree required * Minimum of 1-2 years of legal industry experience, practice experience preferred * Strong communication, presentation and legal research skills * Ability to travel to customer locations * Strong customer-centric focus * Sales experience and aptitude a plus * Self-starter * Interested in working independently and in a team environment * Customer retention and revenue focus required * Experience/background in online legal research tools * High degree of professionalism and flexibility * Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite and internet required At Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters.
