Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Under the supervision of the LPN Program Director at Goodwin University, the Course Coordinator is responsible for teaching didactic and clinical courses. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across the curriculum with a preference for any area of specialization in a related field. We are looking for full-time candidates for our Bridgeport, CT location. The candidate would be a Goodwin employee expected to work in Bridgeport, CT.
In addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to:
Pursue scholarly activities
Participate in school, University, and Community Service
Assist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation associated with a full-time faculty position
Participate in commencement and pinning activities as well as special university meetings
Participation in other university and community service activities that are consistent with the mission
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Teach the didactic content of the LPN Program
Facilitate clinical experience in clinical settings
Provide oversight of all clinical adjunct faculty
Facilitate the clinical experience in the laboratory and help to coordinate the clinical placements for students
Order, maintain and manage inventory of laboratory supplies for the nursing skills lab within the specified budget
Review and provide weekly feedback to students about their clinical performance and paperwork
Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course and clinical learning outcomes
Complete a midterm and final evaluation for each student
Submit the clinicals sign-up for clinicals at the conclusion of each semester
Other duties as assigned
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Other Functions:
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
Participates in departmental and University committees and contributes to student retention.
Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing
Current and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)
At least three years' experience as a practicing registered nurse
Minimum of two years' experience teaching adult learners
Experience in program and curriculum development preferred
Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field of study
Strong planning and organizational skills
Work collegially in a team environment
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
