Course Coordinator For BSN

Position Description Summary/Purpose:

The Department of Nursing at Goodwin University is seeking a MSN prepared individual to serve as a course coordinator in our accelerated BSN program. This is a full-time position with a 3-semester appointment for which there is a break at the end of each semester. Teaching responsibilities will include laboratory, clinical and didactic.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach the didactic content in the assigned course.

• Facilitate the clinical experience in adult medical/surgical clinical settings

• Provide oversight of all clinical adjunct faculty assigned to clinical rotations related to that course

• Facilitate the clinical experience in the nursing skills laboratory and help to coordinate the clinical placements with the clinical coordinator

• Review and provide weekly feedback to students about their clinical performance and paperwork

• Complete midterm and final evaluations for assigned clinical group/s

• Successful applicants will be expected to participate in departmental and University committees, faculty meetings, curriculum development, community day, graduation and contribute to student retention

• Other duties as assigned

Other Functions:

• Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.

• Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.

• Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

• Prepared at the MSN level

• 3-5 years of nursing experience

• Teaching experience with RN students is preferred

• An active license or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
