Impark is currently looking for a Part-Time Courier to work at our Oakland, California Location, in Oakland CA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive shuttle bus from the parking facility to the hospital

  • Help passengers with carry-on luggage

  • Assist passengers to enter/exit the shuttle, including assisting up passengers up/down stairs

  • Assist passengers on/off wheelchair ramp

  • Operate wheelchair ramp

  • Training on safety as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Saturday & Sunday 12:30pm 6:30pm

  • Must possess a clean driving record; DMV records are verified upon hire

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable working in elements

  • Ability to sit comfortably for up to 8 hours

  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend

  • Walk up/down stairs on the shuttle

  • The professional driving experience is highly desired

Compensation:

  • $17.00 an hour

VIEW JOBS 10/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-19T00:00 The Position The City Attorney's Office seeks a well-qualified, highly motivated attorney to serve as departmental counsel ("DC") for the Oakland Police Department ("OPD") as a Special Counsel ("OPD-DC"). OPD-DC will serve as a lawyer within the City Attorney's Office. OPD-DC also must work closely with Department commanders, the City Administrator, Mayor, police officers and civilian personnel. The OPD-DC will provide complex professional legal services and serve in a leadership and management role. The OPD-DC may supervise other attorneys. The City of Oakland is committed to providing its citizens the most effective, professional and accountable police force in the nation. We are seeking an attorney who is eager to play a high-level and impactful role in helping us continue to realize that commitment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a counselor and/or advocate in one or more of the following areas: public sector law, criminal justice, and civil rights litigation. A working knowledge of municipal law basics, such as the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act and the Public Records Act is a plus. The ability to develop proficiency in new areas of law and general municipal law is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment. Office Description The work the Oakland City Attorney's Office – including the work of the OPD-DC – is exciting because it is dynamic and typically varies from one week to the next, and because it requires regular collaboration among attorneys and clients from diverse backgrounds. The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice and counsel to the City and its departments and agencies in areas including but not limited to public contracting, land use, real estate, housing, public works, parks and recreation, health and welfare, library services, public safety, personnel, elections, conflicts of interest, municipal finance, retirement, and economic development. Services include drafting and reviewing development agreements, contracts, legislation and other documents, and providing litigation services in the defense of ordinances and other administrative actions. Additionally, the City Attorney's Office is legal counsel for the City Council, Council committees, Mayor, City Administrator, City Auditor, City boards and commissions, and various City-wide task forces. Job Description This is a leadership position that involves some of the most time sensitive, high-profile, high-stakes matters our office addresses. In addition to analytical acumen, the OPDDC must demonstrate management skills, work ethic and sound judgment in order to inspire the confidence of the City Attorney and her executive team, the Chief of Police and her commanders, the Mayor and the City Administrator. Working for the City of Oakland Examples of Duties * Assign and perform legal research, interpret and apply laws and court decisions; prepare opinions for departments, programs and activities. * Prepare and review of legal opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases and other legal documents; revise such documents as necessary to meet legal standards. * Oversee the investigation of claims and complaints by or against the City; review recommended action to be taken; prepare cases for hearings; represent the City in such hearings. * Act in an advisory capacity at meetings of City Council, City boards and commissions; advise assigned staff on legal matters for City departments. * Represent the City in litigation brought by or against the City; prepares cases for trial, hearings and arbitration. * Manage cases, trials, hearings and projects handled by assigned staff. * Prepare and review briefs for appellant courts and administrative boards. * Prepare forms of court pleading and ordinances, resolutions, contracts, leases, options and permits. * Meet and negotiate with outside parties in matters arising out of claims, property transactions and other City business. * May act as the City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney in their absence. * Develop materials and provide staff training on relevant legal issues. Minimum Requirements for Application Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the following minimum qualifications is acceptable: Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Law. Experience: One year of increasingly responsible work experience comparable to a Deputy City Attorney IV in the City of Oakland. * OR- Minimum of ten years professional experience in relevant areas of law. License or Certificate: A member in good standing of the California State Bar. Incumbents in this position are expected to operate automotive vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. Due to assignments and hours worked, public transportation may not be an efficient method for traveling to required locations. Individuals appointed will be required to maintain a valid California Driver's License while employed. Additional Skills that are Desirable: * Language skills, especially in Spanish, Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Extensive knowledge of: * Municipal, state and federal laws, ordinances and codes affecting City government. * Legal research methods. * Local court rules and procedures Considerable knowledge of: * Public contact and community relations. Working knowledge of: * Principals and practices of management supervision and staff development. * Computer applications and software.
