Counter Sales

Plumbers Supply Co, a family-owned business in operation for 103 years, has an immediate opportunity for a Counter Sales Associate to join our Evansville Branch Sales Team.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 1st Shift

The Counter Sales Associate will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure each customer has been greeted and acknowledged.

• Meet customer expectations by providing a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and trusting environment.

• Work behind the counter taking customer orders or walk-ins and incoming sales efficiently and accurately.

• Pick, ship and consolidate all customer orders accurately and in the time frame required.

• Generate new & repeat sales by providing product & technical information regarding inventory stocked by Plumbers Supply Co.

• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.

• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.

• Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items and information regarding when product will arrive for non-stock items.

• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.

• Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures & customers' profitability profiles.

• Capturing of accurate and complete information in P-21 system for customer & operation satisfaction.

• Present a professional image to customers & vendors.

• Follow company policies & procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

• Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred

• Highly Motivated/Competitive - driven to excel

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills

• Ability to think quickly and learn quickly in a very fast-paced, self-directed customer service environment.

• Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs

• Must be able to stand on your feet up to 8 hrs daily
