    Job Description:
    Designs and implements a school guidance curriculum; provides individual student planning, responsive services, and systems support. Works as a team member with school staff, parents and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere whereby students can achieve academic success.

    Understanding of unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally that impact academic achievement of secondary school students is essential. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

    Responsibilities:
    --- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. --- Counsel students to encourage and support academic achievement through classroom lessons, small groups and individual sessions.

    Counsel students regarding educational issues such as course and program selection, school adjustment, truancy, study habits and career planning. --- Maintain community partnerships to support students and their families. --- Encourage two-way communication to enhance and promote the school counseling program. --- Provide information to students and parents regarding academic progress, counseling programs, community resources, etc. --- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills. --- Use available technology resources to enhance the school counseling practice and program. --- Work collaboratively within the school environment and with appropriate stakeholders to advance the goals of the Counseling Program. --- Align the counseling program to school goals (School Improvement Plan). --- Assist in coordinating district, state, and/or secondary testing programs. --- Manage a counseling program in order to support academic achievement, career planning, and personal/social development. --- Counsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioral problems affecting their educational situation. Refer and connect students to appropriate resources to enhance learning and personal development. --- Use assessment data to measure student learning and academic growth and analyze results in planning counseling decisions. --- Demonstrate age-appropriate counseling practices that meet academic, career, and personal/social needs. --- Support students in the successful transition from each grade level into the next phase. Job Posting Title:Summer Camp Counselor - Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures Job Description:Provides active supervision and facilitation in a residential setting to children aged 8-17. Responsible for the supervision of 8-14 campers in residential bunks. Facilitates recreational activities and leadership programming to groups of 8-12 campers. Collaborates with Stone Canyon Administration and Program Instructors to provide an excellent camp experience for all campers. Creates meaningful connections with all campers. Facilitates cohesiveness and bonding between campers in the residential setting. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): · At least one year experience working with children ages 8-17 (coaching, volunteering, teaching) · Must be able to attend staff training (June 3 - June 9) · Must be available for all five sessions (June 10 - July 13) Responsibilities: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all campers. Supervise groups of 8-14 campers in residential dorms. This includes staying in cabin overnight for the duration of the session. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Assist in site upkeep (general cleaning of residential and program areas). Support kitchen staff and supervise campers during meal times. Lead songs and group games. Inform Assistant Director of any program materials that need to be purchased. Communicate all camper concerns (behavior, health, emotional) to Assistant Director with proper documentation if needed. Manage campers’ behavior at all times. Plan, prepare and facilitate 60-90 minute recreational activities. Ensure campers are prepared for the daily activities.
