We are
looking for a full time Recovery Enrichment Counselor to join our Mental Health services
team in Suffolk County, NY. The Recovery Enrichment Counselor will
provide comprehensive psychiatric rehabilitation and support services to a case
load of clients diagnosed with co-occurring disorder through individual and
group counseling, and case management services such as outreach and home

This position
requires travel within Suffolk County to supported living houses licensed by
The Office of Mental Health (OMH) to assist tenets on the verge of eviction as
a result of substance use, smoking and/or gambling. Candidates must have
a valid driver's license from the state in which they reside and their own
vehicle to use on the job. Mileage will be reimbursed.

VIEW JOBS 3/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-09T00:00 Minimum Qualifications Currently employed as an Addictions Counselor 1 ~OR~ Current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in NYS and reachable on the Addictions Counselor 1 eligible list ~OR~ eligible for transfer. Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment. Duties Description Provide individual counseling and case management services to patients in an inpatient facility. * Maintan a case load of patients with substance abuse and related problems * Conduct individual and group therapy and maintain all required documentation * Assess patient's psychosocial condition and prepare and carry out treatment plans and discharge plans * Participate in case presentations and reviews; work within a multidisciplinary treatment team * Determine the effects of alcohol and other drug use on patient functioning * Present educational materials to community groups patients, and other staff * Assess and develop appropriate discharge plan and help patient comply with recommended aftercare. Additional Comments This is a temporary position for 3-6 months only. Plus Location Pay - $3,026 CK Post is a Tobacco-Free ATC. Background Investigation Requirements: Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable. 2) Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) that includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee's employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Additionally, prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
