This role is responsible for supervising psychology trainees, who provide behavioral health services within an interdisciplinary persistent pain program, while ensuring ethical, professional, and effective care. The Counseling Psychologist provides guidance on therapeutic techniques, supports students in handling complex cases, and addresses crisis intervention when needed. Additionally, this role includes reviewing documentation, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and maintaining compliance with mental health regulations and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide weekly clinical supervision to counseling psychology doctoral students.
Provide feedback to student physical therapists on performance of skills and behaviors with patients.
Review, verify, and approve psychology students' assessment and group therapy documentation.
Facilitate effective interdisciplinary communication between students in persistent pain program.
Participate in clinic trainings and meetings as outlined by Director of Clinical Education.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
PhD or PsyD from APA-accredited psychology graduate program.
Current, unrestricted psychology license in the state of WI.
A minimum of 3 years clinical experience
Experience providing clinical supervision.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and experience providing clinical services within the area of pain psychology and/or health psychology.
Previous experience working within medical settings and on interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary teams.
