Altice USA is seeking an experienced attorney to join the government affairs team as the lead position on state regulatory and legislative issues that impact the Company's wireline and wireless communications services, data advertising businesses, content services, and general corporate business issues.

This position requires significant experience working on state regulatory and legislative issues, including legal analysis of policy proposals as well as interpretation of the impact on businesses of such policies being considered. Candidates must have proven legal analytical skills, excellent written and oral advocacy skills, and the organizational and multitasking skills necessary to manage multiple high-profile matters. The candidate must be able to engage collaboratively across all levels of the Company to ensure understanding of the impact of proposed legislation/regulations on the business as well as to identify opportunities to advance policy proposals in support of key business objectives. Candidates must also be team players and self-starters who can work independently and succeed in a highly dynamic and demanding environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Analyze state regulatory and legislative policy proposals and develop advocacy positions to advance business interests, working closely with Government Affairs members, the Legal department and relevant business units. Portfolio includes managing the Company's merger conditions with State regulators.

Coordinate with other industry colleagues and Company consultants to understand industry positions on relevant state regulatory and legislative proposals. Support with policy analysis and advocacy the development and execution of strategic plans to advance and protect the Company's interests in the state regulatory and legislative arenas, including before State regulatory commissions and other state agencies and legislatures as necessary.

Develop strong relationships with business partners to ensure an understanding of Company plans for network investment and expansion, product initiatives, digital advertising, and other business initiatives.

Ensure business awareness of state regulatory and legislative requirements to facilitate compliance.

  • JD degree, admission to a state bar and minimum of 10 years' experience with regulatory and/or legislative policy issues in the communications industry in government, law firm, trade association and/or in-house.

  • Excellent regulatory/legislative analytical and drafting skills and strong ability to efficiently explain policy issues in written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work as part of a team and drive a large group process.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to perform well under pressure while handling multiple tasks, and ability to work a flexible schedule.

  • Self-starter interested in dynamic and growing company with non-traditional approach.
