Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced attorney to serve as Counsel, Real Estate - Data Center Development in Facebook's San Francisco based legal department. This full-time position will work closely with Facebook's Data Center Site Selection team and will report to the Associate General Counsel (Infrastructure). This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and work in an exciting, fast-paced environment.


  • Assist with the development of new data center campuses in the U.S. This work will include the purchase of real property, negotiation of economic development incentives, acquisition of entitlements, and negotiation of infrastructure and development agreements

Negotiate data center leases

Closely manage and direct outside counsel

Counsel Facebook's data center site selection team on the above areas including strategy and planning and tax and other incentives

Coordinate with legal colleagues focused on the construction of and energy procurement for data centers


  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar
    3+ years of experience with the drafting and negotiation of real estate development transactions, including the structuring, drafting and negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, data center development and associated technical infrastructure agreements, development incentive agreements, performing real estate due diligence activities such as the review of title documents, surveys and environmental reports, as well as experience drafting and negotiating real estate leases

Drafting and negotiating experience along with business judgment and experience thinking strategically

Experience with organization and managing multiple projects simultaneously

As a BD manager, your primary focus will be the growth of the business, a start-up company’s raison d'être, in the city of San Francisco. You will negotiate and partner with large developers and landlords to add new properties to Blueground’s portfolio while establishing strong relationships with the local real estate industry. You will work closely with Blueground’s General Manager in San Francisco to develop and execute on a property acquisition strategy and plan.
