Align Technology ("Align") is a global medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of the Invisalign system, the pioneer and most technically advanced clear aligner system on the market, and of the iTero intraoral scanners and services for orthodontic and restorative dentistry. We are looking for a Counsel to serve as a strategic business partner to our supply chain and operations organization providing support for a broad spectrum of transactional agreements and support for the commercial contracts team. This position will provide practical, timely and high quality legal services and analysis for the team responsible for Align's most strategic contracts.
The ideal candidate will be an attorney whth experience in medical technology as well as intellectual flexibility and versatility, solid business acumen and judgment, and thoughtful, sensitive and persuasive interpersonal skills. As a member of the Align's fast paced legal team, this person will have strong drafting and negotiation skills and experience with commercial real estate, supply and supplier quality agreements as well as provide support on clinical, research, technology license, joint development and other agreements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate, draft, and review an extensive range of contracts including commercial real estate, supply, supplier quality and provide support on clinical study related, research, technology license, joint development and agreements, technology licensing, and joint development agreements. Provide legal advice to supply chain and operations organizations, including pro-active participation with stakeholder group.
Advise and keep abreast of global legal requirements to support supply chain and operations organization for medical technologies including PMAs/510(k)s. Ensure contracts follows applicable laws and regulations and is adequately designed and appropriately prioritized to support supplier/vendor performance and Align objectives. Develop best in class practices including user friendly, visual, legal templates, policies, procedures, guidance documents, tools or training materials informed by continuous improvement.Ensure compliance with Align's contract management process and other company policies and procedures.Perform legal research and assist in other legal matters as and when required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- JD/Law degree and appropriate licensure to practice law in CA.2+ years minimum experience drafting and negotiating supply agreements for medical technologies or pharmaceutical companies. 2+ years minimum post-bar experience, ideally gained within medical technology, pharmaceutical organization in combination with a top-tier law firm representing healthcare & technology clients in the area of contracts.Dental industry, additive manufacturing/3D printing and IP experience a plus.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
