POSITION TITLE: Council Co-Chair (INTERNAL POSTING; up to 4 opportunities available)
REPORTS TO: College Governance Council
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Council Co-Chairs play an important role in helping Bristol maintain and manage the shared governance model. They act as a liaison between the College Governance Council (CGC) and their members to facilitate, manage, and monitor the activities being performed by the councils and provide guidance on deliverables, as well as manage the logistics of the membership groups relative to things like engagement plans, rotation, elections, documentation, etc.
The value of being a Council Co-Chair contributes to an employee's professional development at the college. Those who serve as Council Co-Chairs may reflect this service in their personnel file and resume. Additionally, professional development offerings may be made available to Council Co-Chairs based on identified needs and feedback provided to the College Governance Council.
Currently, opportunities to serve as Council Co-Chair are available for the following councils: Data (2), Operational (1), Advancement (1)

Additional Information:
Full-Time FACULTY PROVISION: In the first two years as Co-Chair, full-time faculty will receive 1 course release (3 credits). During the mentorship year, time spent in the role will constitute part of regular college service.
TERM: Co-chairs serve two-year appointments with an extra year for mentoring new chairs. Current opportunities will begin in Fall 2024 and continue through Spring 2026.
