Our Seating Division is looking for a Cost Estimator for our JIT Plants, for our NA headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead new vehicle programs, in acquisition phase for feasibility into our Plants

  • Create equipment and tooling list, preform capacity study, develop launch cost and manufacturing engineering budget, handle the labor rates with HR for hourly and salaried employees

  • Build finance organizational chart for plant in preparation for start of production

  • Handle costed bill of materials (BOMs) for Plant work with purchasing and others on team to formulate pricing. Handle the cost pro forma of plant operational costs

  • Other duties as assigned

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field 5 years experience in Cost Estimation activities or at a JIT manufacturing automotive plant, required

  • Seat experience is highly preferred

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills

  • Ability to work with multiple different departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide technical support in development and improvement of the material flow standards. * Development and analysis of future program material flow from dock to point of use. * Provide advanced programs with complete warehouse planning tools including layout, material labor requirements, and material routes. * Provide technical evaluation and implementation of best business practices as it relates to material flow. * Provide technical support in the development and improvement of the current material flow standards. * Maintain material flow best business practice documentation. * Provide training and technical assistance in the role out of changes to the material flow best business practices. * Provide technical support and leadership with the indirect labor motion based time standards. * Maintenance of a central database for plant layouts, key logistics, warehouse planning tool, and manufacturing documentation. * Support key initiatives and core projects as required. * Mentor plant IEs, providing tech support & evaluation of IE documents including process books (rebalancing), layouts material labor requirements and re-balancing, and best business practices as it applies to value add and non value add REQUIRED SKILLS: * Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering required - Industrial preferred * Minimum of 5 years of industry experience desired - automotive interiors experience desired * Working experience in a manufacturing assembly facility - JIT manufacturing experience desired * MODapts knowledge required - certification desired * Strong computer skills required (MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.) * Strong leadership and Interpersonal skill - ability to work in a matrix organization * Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork (verbal and documentation required, Spanish and English languages desired * Extensive travel and plant visits is required * Flexible work schedule and hours is required PRIMARY LOCATION Bridgewater Interiors IV Adient Lansing MI
