Wedbush Securities is one of the largest privately-held, full-service investment banking and brokerage firms in the nation, and Consumer/Retail has long been an area of focus for the firm (investment banking, equity research, sales and trading). The Consumer/Retail Investment Banking group at Wedbush is seeking an experienced Managing Director to take on a key leadership role in transaction origination. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of revenue generation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiate new client relationships and expand the Wedbush franchise within the consumer, retail and/or eCommerce sectors

  • Engage in marketing activities with existing and new potential clients and manage deal pipeline

  • Oversee all aspects of transaction life cycle: client sourcing, marketing, due diligence, negotiation, documentation and closing

  • Develop strong internal relations with various departments to maximize firm-wide success and profitability

  • Maintain professional image of the company

  • Mentor, lead and develop team members

Experience and Skills

  • BA/BS required; MBA, CFA, CPA or other advanced degrees/credentials desirable

  • 10+ years of experience within the consumer/retail sector at a nationally recognized investment banking firm (including significant origination and execution experience with both M&A and public financing transactions)

  • FINRA Series 79 required; Series 24 preferred

  • Proven track record with increasing responsibilities of lead generation

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with an ability to bring in new clients

  • Self-driven with ability to work independently

A Tax Compliance Officer analyzes, interprets and enforces various tax, permit and fee liabilities, including the City business, parking and transient occupancy taxes and City permit ordinances through independent field and office investigations; may supervise other Tax Compliance Officers and clerical staff by directing and coordinating the activities of a field enforcement or office enforcement section; and may assist at a public counter or the call center providing technical assistance to customers via telephone, on-line and in-person. REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) * Two years of full-time paid experience as a Tax Compliance Aide with the City of Los Angeles; or * A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or public administration. The multiple-choice test will be proctored and administered on-line during a single session. It is anticipated that the remote proctored multiple-choice test will be administered between TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2019 and TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2019.
