X-Rite, known as one of "West Michigan's Best & Brightest Companies to Work For" is seeking a Cost Analyst to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Cost Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of the standard cost system for various locations throughout the X-Rite organization. Perform month-end closing functions, including account reconciliations and general ledger entries. Analyzes general ledger data and communicates results to accounting management.

Essential Job Functions:
1.Reconciles Inventory residing at various X-Rite locations on a monthly basis, and communicates discrepancies to operations staff for resolution. Insure that corrections are completed on a timely basis.
2.Perform month-end closing duties, including account reconciliations and manufacturing variance analysis.
3.Develop and prepare monthly internal reports to be utilized by management.
4.Participate in the development of the annual standard cost roll.
5.Assists in the development of the annual budget.
6.Process MAPICS/Oracle transactional data batches and correct error transactions.
7.Assist with the review and reconciliation of various balance sheet activity.
8.Carry out special projects and operational reviews as needed.
9.Job functions include but are not limited to those listed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
1.2+ years of accounting or relevant experience. Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required
2.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field
3.MAPICS/Oracle and foreign currency experience is a plus
4.Strong Microsoft Excel skills
5.Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize to meet deadlines
6.Ability to solve problems using independent judgement and analytical skills
7.Able to work independently and within a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Job Introduction Responsible for the administration of cost analyst activities including sales, piece price, launch, and engineering cost tracking. Supports customer service teams in various planning, reporting, and analytical capacities. Responsibilities * Has primary responsibility for development and maintenance of sales quotation financial model. Maintains records and files to serve as history for all customer quotations. * Analyzes and validates results of financial model based on inputs received for reasonableness and obtains revised assumptions from the organization as needed. * Works with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and sales to secure the necessary information for proper quotations and ensure quoted bill of material, design & engineering, tooling and capital costs are accurate and in compliance with customer requirements. * Monitors program financial performance from award to launch, and assists sales directors and program managers in detecting variances and initiating corrective action plans. * Ensures that accurate quoted sales price breakdown information is developed and entered in customer database systems as required. * Participate in and provide analysis for sales quotation approval meetings with Senior Management in support of customer quote approval process. * In cooperation with divisional finance staff, responsible for development of annual burden rates in support of the financial quote model. * Assists other departments on matters pertaining to the development of cost estimates to assure consideration of all pertinent facts. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in appropriate field (e.g., accounting, finance, engineering), plus a minimum of three years' experience in an appropriate business environment. * Demonstrated strong initiative in confronting and resolving problems. * Strong leadership and written/verbal communication skills with ability to interact with and influence all segments of the organization. Ability to clearly explain complex financial data in a manner that is easily understood by non-finance individuals. * Strong analytical skills, and ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision. * Knowledge and experience preferred in the following areas: o Cost accounting and estimating. o Standard machine, labor and overhead rate development. o Financial ratio measurements, including time value of money. o Conceptual knowledge of engineering design and process disciplines. o Design and optimization of manufacturing processes. o Flow process analysis. * Proficient in use of computers and computer applications, with advanced skills required related to Excel.
