Orion is looking for a Cost Accounting Manager to join our team! The Cost Accounting Manager will manage accounting for inventory. This includes development and maintenance of standards costs as well as monthly closing activities and analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of standard costs for material, labor, and overhead for manufacturing

  • Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management

  • Coordination of physical inventory procedures and variance analysis including inventory reconciliations

  • Monthly closing activities including preparation of required reserves, capitalized variances, and review of cost of sales expense accounts

  • Reporting to operations and finance management on results of monthly and ad hoc analyses

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance

  • 3+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience

  • Cost accounting experience within the manufacturing industry

  • Public company experience ideal

Job Responsibilities: * Through coaching and modeling, the operations manager will set, lead and coach Best in Class expectations for Customer Service. * Develop and execute individual development plans for each of their direct reports. Identify wage and expense budget variances and take corrective action where necessary through coaching and training. * Responsible for oversight of all cash management policies, procedures and practices. * Responsible for the implementation, audit and administration of the Fleet Rewards Visa and Store Cards. * Ensure the store is in compliance with all company procedures and policies to ensure customers are receiving a superior experience. * Responsible for monitoring store wage and expense control programs. * In conjunction with the Loss Prevention Lead, oversee all efforts to reduce shrink activity through education, awareness and compliance. * Provide as needed guidance and oversight for customer related issues. * Ensure store safety practices are in place to provide a risk-free experience for every team member and customer. Qualifications * High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or other related field preferred. * 5+ years of retail, managerial experience preferred. * Ability to effectively communicate with all walks of life. * Proven ability to lead, coach and build teammate relationships. * Able to direct and motivate a diverse teammate population that includes full-time and part-time employees. * Demonstrated ability to act decisively in implementing solutions. * Demonstrated ability to multi-task; ability to respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment. * Be comfortable speaking and conducting training. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
