We are looking for a Cost Accounting Admin to work 100% remotely and be responsible for adding and updating bills of materials and routings for manufactured products. They will also be responsible for calculating and conveying new costs to team members and adhering to the accuracy required. Additionally, they will need to consider the impact of changing BOMs and routings on demand planning and production scheduling, as well as the cost impact affecting margins, inventory values, variances, and cost of goods.

This position again offers remote work, but will require travel from time to time. Pay for this position starts at $20/hour to $26/hour

What will you do in this role?

  • Creates and maintains accurate multi-level bills of materials (BOMs) related to components, routings, quantities, and costs within our ERP/MRP system.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, procurement, product management to ensure accurate costing and bill of material structure.

  • Assists in the implementation and maintains systems and processes to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of BOM data.

  • Audits BOM information to identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies and answers questions regarding product cost.

  • Provides timely updates on BOM changes, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are informed.

  • Assesses and suggests solutions to improve BOM-related processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors in the production workflow.

  • Calculates accurate item cost for item master for new and current item setups and convey new costs to all stakeholders.

  • Prepares cost estimates of new and non-recurring items.

  • Maintains standard costs & average unit cost for purchased, sub-contract & manufactured (bill of material and routing) SKU's.

  • Audits standard and average unit costs for inaccuracies and potential corrections to standard.

What are we looking for in a Cost Accounting Admin?

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge Accounting principles

  • Advanced Excel skills, with functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

  • High degree of accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to work with ERP systems and databases.

  • Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.

  • Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • Cost accounting and/or Bill of Material experience

  • Knowledge of Max, MITS, and CSD a plus

Travel Requirements

  • Some local and overnight travel is required; frequency will be dependent upon applicant's location to the facility
