Cost Accountant

Tarkett has a great opportunity for a Cost Accountant for our Chagrin Falls Manufacturing Plant.

Summary

We are seeking Cost Accountant to join our successful and growing team in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In this position you will have the opportunity to assist the Plant Controlling team in the daily operations of the department. The Cost Accountant will interface with accounting, manufacturing, and management personnel to provide accurate timely reporting and analysis of financial and operational information. Additionally, the person in this role will become versed process improvement initiatives and by using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology. This position reports to Assistant Controller with strong possibilities to grow and evolve within the organization.

What this role is responsible for:

• Work closely with Material Master team to develop and maintain accurate production bill of materials and routings

• Responsible for updating standard costs and provide analysis on changes

• Prepare financial analysis in key areas, including inventory, scrap and production labor

• Work with Assistant Controller to analyze material price and usage

• Support plant cycle count program and annual physical inventory

• Assist in development of annual budgets and monthly forecast review

• Participate in month end close activities - create and post journal entries, analyze data and support in creating bridges

• Prepare and review account reconciliations on a monthly basis

• Assist with internal and external auditing process

• Support Plant Accountant as needed with fixed assets

• Support WCM Cost Deployment Pillar

• Support the plant management in ad hoc requests and continuous improvement projects

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's/4-year college degree, B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance required.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Manufacturing environment highly preferred.

• Proficient the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) required.

• Experience with SAP or other large-scale ERP highly preferred.

• Hands-on, energetic, organized, team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change, multitask effectively, and work independently.

• Proactive approach in learning the business.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and oral communication and ability to interact with employees of all skill levels including shop floor, maintenance, & corporate level.
