Our client, a growing manufacturing company in York, PA, is seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant. This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting and involves assisting with all aspects of accounting related to the company's day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the finance expert on inventory processes and transactions, ensuring system accuracy from material requirements to project completion. Collaborate with Operations, Shipping/Receiving, and Materials/Purchasing to maintain and track various inventory types. Implement, support, track, and analyze cycle counts and full physical inventories.

Perform month-end inventory reconciliations and roll forwards. Track, analyze, and report on costs and margins for different revenue streams monthly and as needed. Monitor cost of goods sold variances and report findings regularly.

Lead the development, maintenance, and annual update of standard costs (materials, labor, overhead). Maintain and update an Inventory Reserve for slow-moving or obsolete inventory. Provide financial status updates on projects, comparing actual costs to budgets and forecasts, and contribute to job closeout meetings. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

Develop estimates for new and proposed product costs, providing reports on factors affecting prices and profitability. Support departmental and cross-departmental employees. Conduct root cause analysis on variances and analyze monthly results to support forecasting processes.

Requirements: B.S. in Finance or Accounting. 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment. Strong background in cost systems and analytical skills. Proven ability to prepare accurate reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Excellent organizational, accounting, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong analytical abilities to gather, summarize information, resolve problems, and escalate issues appropriately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.

Demonstrates ethical behavior and good judgment. Willingness to take on additional assignments as needed. Commitment to accurate, timely completion of tasks.
