JOB SUMMARY

This accountant will play a key role in our F&A team that supports both S&C's Production Operations. The primary duties include cost accounting, inventory coordination and margin analysis. This position reports to the Manager-Cost Accounting.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with the annual physical inventory & cycle count programs.

  • Analyze inventory trends and develop reports which highlight and communicate significant changes.

  • Perform monthly closing activities including analysis of accounts and preparation of journal entries.

  • Provide financial guidance to the Production Operations group on cost accounting questions and issues.

  • Develop and maintain performance metrics for material costs and establish material and labor standards.

  • Analyze data discrepancies and implement changes when needed to improve processes.

  • Forecast and analyze variances and report on findings.

  • Analyze costs of existing and proposed products to identify trends and recommend profitability improvements.

  • Develop and prepare annual audit work papers and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.

  • MBA/CPA preferred.

  • Ability to gather and analyze detailed financial data resulting in recommendations to business leaders.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with various stakeholders and cross functional project teams.

  • Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Access, SAP BusinessObjects, & Oracle ERP.

Relevant Work Experience:

Four years Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include general oversight of assigned processes within the Hyatt monthly and quarterly close process, specifically related to Hyatt's managed and franchised properties, as well as the various billing and collection functions. This includes preparation of journal entries, monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations as well as financial statement analytics across all Hyatt entities. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the enhancement of internal controls and participating in special projects that incorporate a wide range of accounting exposure. Responsibilities * Preparation of monthly journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and billing files provided to the accounts receivable team. * Preparation of monthly analyticals over significant account balances. * Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures as special projects, as required. * Preparation of various stand-alone audit reports. * Preparation of quarterly external reporting schedules. * Fielding and resolving inquiries from management and external auditors. * Contribute to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls. * Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.
