Cost Accountant - Long Island - Hybrid

This role is for a Cost Accountant who comes from a manufacturing background and can be hands on in a dynamic environment. My client is looking for someone who can both do the accounting work necessary and present well to vendors and clients when navigating inter-company relationships.

Client Details My client is a nationally renowned baked goods and deli meat manufacturer working with big box store clients and distributors across the US. They are rapidly growing and due to opening a new manufacturing plant are looking to expand their accounting function to accommodate the growth. The person stepping into this Cost Accounting role will be able to be part of a ground floor build out and make a big impact as part of this expanding team.

Description The Cost Accountant position will assist with all cost accounting activities such as accurate product costing, overhead capitalization calculations, variance analysis, and transaction support. Assist with Month End Close and preparation of reports Participate in maintaining the inventory accounts Monitor production orders for accuracy and completeness Track average cost variability and report anomalies Profile A bachelor's or master's degree in finance or accounting 3 years of cost accounting experience (manufacturing background preferred) Proficiency in accounting software SAP, QuickBooks, Etc. Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders.
