Applicant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities include performing monthly account reconciliations, various reporting analysis and assistance in month end close. In addition, opportunities exist to drive/support development of product cost estimates or modifications. Applicant must be organized, have strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and follow up skills and be very detail-oriented. Experience working as a cost accountant or cost analyst in a manufacturing environment required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily/weekly production reports and usage variance/shrink reports.

  • Reconcile all plant inventories at month end.

  • Coordinate with master data and operations on any BOM updates.

  • Review of BOMs and all product overhead rates on a regular basis and update them as directed.

  • Calculate raw milk forecast price for future months.

  • Calculate and communicate monthly intercompany pricing.

  • Prepare product costs for innovation products and new packaging configurations.

  • Assist in month end close and provide various month end reports for plant management.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial data required for forecasting and budgeting processes.

  • Provide other production ad-hoc reporting as needed by management.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative but not limited of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting.

  • CPA, CMA or Masters Degree in Business or Finance is preferred.

  • Three years as a cost accountant or cost analyst and worked in a manufacturing environment.

  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

  • Good knowledge of skills needed to operate standard office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines and accurate10-key and typing.

  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Must possess above average Microsoft Office/EXCEL software skills, have strong follow-up and follow through capabilities with superior attention to detail and have the ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced environment.

  • Applicant must possess the ability to listen, must have strong communication skills (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.

  • To apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

  • The applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check prior to commencing work.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, use hands and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stretch and reach with hands and arms. The applicant is frequently required to stand and walk occasionally, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The applicant must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • The applicant will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
