Your responsibilitiesthyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Cost Accoutant III in Middleton, TN. Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the product cost process and support the product costing area of the business

  • Support the system cost process and implement changes as required

  • Organize and lead team efforts to improve procedures and controls with minimal supervision

  • Analyze bill of materials structure and system costing processes for accuracy and "best practices"; coordinate efforts to implement any changes/adjustments required

  • Effectively communicate and interact across departments and levels of leadership

  • Lead the annual re-standardization and master data accuracy effort

  • Support Plant Controller's efforts for implementing and maintaining internal controls for operations, sales, engineering and finance

  • Interface with manufacturing plant personnel and purchasing on Inventory and Costing issues

  • Prepare and maintain accounting reports and statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with Company policies and procedures

  • Assist with physical inventory and outside audits as required

  • Analyze actual labor, material and overhead cost against Standard/Budget. Research and explain variances

  • Provide timely and accurate accounting support as required for the following:

  • Monthly Reconciliations

  • Monthly Costing Processes

  • Maintenance of Standard Costs

  • Month-end financial closing

  • Perform Ad Hoc reporting

  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Your profile

  • Four to six years of accounting, finance and/or relevant experience with exposure to costing/bill of material structure and experience is preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering is required.Possess the ability to perform a variety of tasks under minimal to no supervision

  • Possess an advanced understanding of cost accounting principles

  • Possess an advanced working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and manufacturing process flow

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Access or other database knowledge

  • Possess the strong ability to analyze and organize daily activities to support the organization in a timely and efficient manner

  • Must be able to organize, lead and execute team efforts in a time-sensitive environment to maximize results

  • Must be able to carry out job requirements at an elevated level of accuracy

  • Must possess a strong internal drive to provide exceptional customer service for internal and external customers

  • Possess strong data analytical and validation skills

  • Possess advanced skills in the use and understanding of manufacturing related software and the applications

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must possess the ability to perform and make decisions at a high level of independence

This role will understand, deploy and teach Lean methodologies and principles on a basic level in an effort to determine which methodology applies to any particular problem current or from past occurrences. Essential duties and responsibilities: * Identify the correct OpEx methodology to improve manufacturing and business processes * Teach OpEx methodologies and principles to all team members and/or cross functional teams * Help identify and prioritize improvement opportunities using a range of methodologies (Visual Management, Mission Control, Hoshin Kanri, Value Stream Assessment & Design (VSA/VSD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/A)) * Coach team members at the operator to manager and director level in Shop Floor Management * Coach team members, functional teams and cross-functional teams in the methodology of Visual Management (VM), including how to set up VM tools, how to interpret them and how to act on them * Coach and mentor less senior OPEX Analysts and Coaches in all areas of Lean and OPEX methodologies * Write new procedures and process instructions on an advanced level * Maintain and improve existing procedures and processes * Prepare reports and training materials in addition to technical reports. * Create and deliver education, training and coaching in a variety of methods: Classroom instruction, Hands-on exercises, Simulations, 1:1, etc. * Act as subject matter expert locally for all Lean Methodologies and Principles. * Work with cross functional teams to develop advanced level solutions for cross functional problems. * Develop advanced level solutions for cross-functional problems * Soft Skills coaching and training * Multi Project Management * Support the facilitation of Hoshin Kanri / Strategy deployment events * Work with Finance department to determine financial benefits of projects, establish tracking mechanisms and be able to address issues * Coach different departments and functions (for example: Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Logistics and so on) in Shop Floor Management and Projects execution * Establish correlations between projects and initiatives involving more than one department/function and support Change Management in cross functional projects Your profile * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required * Certification in Green Belt Six Sigma is a must.
