Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant plays a key role in preparing and summarizing the cost activities of the Quakertown manufacturing plant and distribution center. Also serves as the primary financial support for department leaders to understand and manage spend activities for the site. Applies principles of accounting and finance to analyze information and prepare financial reports. Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations necessary to provide an accurate accounting of the corporation's financial position.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in month-end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

  • Assist in the preparation, consolidation and submission of internal financial management reports and other deliverables.

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare necessary journal entries in accordance with GAAP.

  • Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company.

  • Report and analyze department spend, providing monthly variance analysis to management.

  • Report and analyze inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and support semi-annual physical inventory activities.

  • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations related to inventory.

  • Work with department leaders to develop and update monthly forecast targets as well as the annual budget.

  • Special projects and ad-hoc reports as required.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar is highly preferred

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant cost accounting experience

  • Experience working with an ERP system is essential; SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced computer skills with MS software (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cost or GL accounting experience working for a manufacturing company

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.

  • Ability to create complex reports and write succinct correspondence.

  • Experience using SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams

  • Technical acumen, creative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills .

At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
