Manufacturing firm is seeking a Cost Accountant JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the AP and cash reporting, assist with ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the controller with performing the following: ?Perform the monthly Cost/Inventory close process and review manufacturing variances ?Establish standard costs for manufactured items in the facility by working with engineering, production, and purchasing to accurately distribute production costs ?Coordinate physical inventory count for this year-end and setup cycle count process for future years ?Work with Production Support to investigate variances, provide feedback, and resolve errors ?Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies ?Work with management on annual budget process ?Work with Production support on a quarterly review of obsolete inventory ?Analyze manufacturing variances and prepare inventory roll-forwards monthly ?Month end close processes ?Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: ?Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting ?3-5 years cost accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment ?Must have knowledge on standard costing systems ?Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required ?Advanced computer skills in MS Office and ERP software ?Highly organized and detail oriented is a must ?Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team ?Excellent problem solving skills. Must have initiative and drive to root out problems and provide solutions ?Ability to work without constant direction and monitor own work to ensure quality ?Ability to work independently and monitor own work to ensure quality ?Must be dependable; consistent attendance/punctuality is required ?Ability to prioritize, follow policies and procedures

General Summary This position is responsible for the maintenance and management of equipment for an assigned facility including supervising the activities of all employees engaged in repairing and maintaining equipment to ensure company assets are preserved and work schedules are met. Essential Job Accountabilities 1. Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment for the assigned facility in accordance with Granite's Corporate Equipment Standards. 2. Manage and schedule the maintenance of all equipment for assigned facility to ensure all equipment is up and running in a timely manner and no work is delayed; maintain equipment files including inventory, repair, maintenance, oil sampling, and servicing to ensure the preservation of company investments. 3. Manage all shop and field mechanics including hiring, firing and development to ensure a productive and efficient department. 4. Monitor the condition of equipment including removing equipment from use due to mechanical or safety problems to ensure a safe working environment. 5. Maintain communications with local equipment dealers and appropriate vendors. 6. Inspect damaged equipment in the shop or field as required to determine normal wear and tear, damage or abuse and report results to the Equipment Manager to ensure proper use and upkeep of equipment. 7. Review and analyze requests for purchases, repairs or replacement of tools and parts and make recommendations to the Equipment Manager to ensure equipment is kept up-to-date and budgets are met. 8. Compare costs and best value of equipment repair including contracting outside vendors, using inhouse labor or equipment replacements to ensure the most cost effective choices are made. 9. Oversee transportation of all equipment and obtain, as necessary, all moving permits, licenses, titles, and safety checks, as required by corporate policy, state and/or federal regulations, or client requirements to ensure compliance. 10. Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives including holding weekly safety meeting with staff to ensure a safe work environment. Education High School Diploma required Some college preferred Work Experience Minimum of 3 years experience in the management of construction equipment maintenance and staff, preferably heavy equipment and commercial trucks. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Strong supervisory skills and leadership ability. Practical knowledge of the function, operation and maintenance of construction equipment and/or education & experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. General knowledge of construction practices (excavating, grading, paving, etc.) Expert computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software and familiarity with accounting/financial software. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
