Cosmetology Aide

Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School is seeking a Cosmetology Instructional Aide for the 2024-2025 school year.
The ideal candidate will assist licensed vocational instructors in the shop area. Knowledge of the competencies and skills required of students in Cosmetology is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work with all students by assisting the approved vocational technical instructor in delivering quality training to prepare the students to meet the demands of working in a Cosmetology Salon.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assist in the implementation of a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
2.Assist in delivering effective instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Cosmetology Frameworks and performance standards to students of varying abilities and skill levels.
3.Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
4.Responsible for effective techniques of classroom management/discipline and behavior reinforcement.
5.Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Must possess Cosmetology License and Cosmetology Instructor's license from Board of Reg. in CS or be able to obtain such a license within 6 months.
2.Minimum of 5 years practical experience in the Cosmetology field.
3.High School Diploma.
4.Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Experience working with students in high school settings.
2.Massachusetts Chapter 74 License in Cosmetology.
3.SEI Endorsement.
4.Advanced educational preparation in the area of Cosmetology and/or teaching.

WORK YEAR: Full-time, permanent position school year (184 days). Benefits per BPTA Paraprofessionals contract. SALARY: To be determined according to the District contract.
