Job Description: Maintain adequate corrosion control systems for pipelines and Terminals, including monitoring, testing, design, and installation. Corrosion control systems will include cathodic protection, atmospheric and subsurface coatings and internal corrosion prevention such as chemical treatments and monitoring.
Maintain effective corrosion control systems for pipeline and terminals. Run tests, as needed for design of corrosion control systems. Inspect installation of cathodic protection systems.
Troubleshoot and mitigate interference problems as required. Utilize Allegro field computer to collect regulatory CP data, enter and review data into CPDM for area of responsibility. Provide recommendations for improvements based on collected data.
Constantly interacts, trains and supports operations personnel concerning corrosion control. Inspect and advise on coating inspection and failure analysis as needed.
Insure compliance with federal and state regulations. Reduce potential risk to public safety and environment and minimize company liability.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have NACE Cathodic Protection Certification.
5-8 years of experience required. Must have experience in mitigation of corrosion of subsurface pipelines and above ground storage tanks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy. Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines. Ability to work successfully in stressful situations, and manage multiple tasks. Ability to use awareness of relationships and impacts of data trends and elements to appropriately recommend action that impacts the integrity of company assets. Ability to independently conduct job accountabilities. Ability to take directions from supervisor. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
