The Role: The Corrosion Integrity Engineer (Lv 1) is responsible to perform duties associated with pipeline integrity and corrosion control inspection surveys and assessments. This is a position that requires relevant technical skills, NACE CP1 or CP2 certifications, field leadership and the ability to work independently. This is an excellent career opportunity for cathodic protection and integrity technicians looking to broaden their technical experience and exposure to broader pipeline integrity challenges.


Essential Duties/Principal

Responsibilities:
  • Plan & perform annual cathodic protection adjustive surveys, which includes: measuring & recording structure-to-soil potential data, rectifier monitoring & maintenance, soil measurements

  • Serve as the technical Lead for the project, assist personnel as needed with troubleshooting and dealing with any technical or equipment difficulties.

  • Provide regular project progress reports to the Project Manager, ensuring an effective communication including all pertinent project details.

  • Process Field data and write reports utilizing specialty software for analysis and client presentation

  • Locate and map pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electro-magnetic and GPS equipment

  • Perform over-the-line depth of cover, close interval cathodic protection and coating surveys, DOC, ACVG, DCVG & Watercourse surveys utilizing XLI equipment and /or other equipment.

  • Perform field designs and office design under the guidance of a senior engineer

  • Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports

  • Operate and maintain company vehicle and other equipment

  • Capture multiple data streams and troubleshoot, wearing backpack and carrying probes daily. Operate advanced field test equipment including GPS receiver, pipe locator, survey pack, & handheld PDA

  • Review/download documents of record. Prepare custom reports, daily project and safety checklists

  • Perform water course mapping and bathymetric surveys

  • Perform inline tool tracking (remote and traditional)

  • Launch and receive and Inline leak detection tools including tool preparation, data review and processing

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Must have a minimum of NACE CP1, prefer NACE CP2.

  • Pipeline/oil field experience is not essential but is considered an asset

  • Applicable engineering degree or diploma is considered an asset

  • Enjoy working outdoors in varying weather; heavy travel throughout U.S for defined periods

  • Solid organizational skills, able to prioritize and track multiple projects concurrently

  • Positive attitude, teachable brings continuous improvement to role and company

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PC Skills

  • Experience tracking inline inspection and cleaning tools and/or supporting the preparation, launching and receiving of ILI tools would be considered an asset

Position Summary A Mechanical Integrity Engineer for Oceaneering will manage the design, technical and operating integrity of process piping and equipment for various clients. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL * Design, plan, initiate and monitor inspection programs with both internal and 3rd party NDT/NDE personnel, and interpret and assess information generated during the inspection programs. * Assess a variety of historical inspection, operational conditions, process and corrosion control data to adequately assess and give direction on the further inspection and operation of process equipment. This shall be achieved via Semi-Quantitative Risk Analysis through the use of Oceaneering's integrity management software. * Understand the consequence and overall risk posed by degradation on process equipment and be able to perform Fitness for Service analyses based on the available information. * Provide Fitness for Service and Risk Based Assessment of process equipment in an organized, coherent and logical format to be reported to clients. Further Risk Based Inspection programs, required as a result of Risk Based Assessment, shall be designed and project managed by the Mechanical Integrity Engineer. * Create document file structures and maintain project files and all project documents including but not limited to: Pre-mobilization activity schedules, project schedules, project overview, personnel and equipment schedules, RBA/RBI reports and Fitness for Service Reports. ADDITIONAL * Monitor project cost control and profit and loss tracking. Qualifications REQUIRED * Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in an engineering disciple. * Five (5) years of related experience in the oil and gas industry. * Working knowledge of API 580/581, API 579, API 510, API5 70, API 653, ASME VIII D1, ASME II, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 & 31.8. * Working knowledge of: * Risk Based Analysis (API RP580/581) * Degradation Mechanisms * Corrosion Engineering * Corrosion mitigation * Operational monitoring techniques DESIRED * API 510, API 653 and API 570 certification highly preferred * PMP Certification. * NDT knowledge for core techniques. * Familiar with CMMS (SAP, MAXIMO, etc) and IDMS (APM Meridium, ACET, PCMS, etc.).
