Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Corrosion Engineer/Scientist for our Materials and Corrision Enginerring Practice in our Menlo Park, CA office. In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct hands-on failure analysis, field inspections, electrochemical and other laboratory testing, as well as work with clients to evaluate corrosion control and integrity management measures. Your long-term goal will be to develop business and bring new clients to the firm.

You will be responsible for

• Conducting hands-on failure analysis

• Planning and executing laboratory tests

• Conducting field inspections

• Working with clients to develop, evaluate, and improve their integrity management and corrosion control programs

• Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients and administrative staff

You will have the following skills and qualifications

• Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Corrosion or related field

• Specialized knowledge of corrosion science with a strong background in electrochemical techniques is required

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute

• Knowledge of failure analysis and coating technology is desired

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.

Salary Range

USD $135,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
