Basic Function

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Artesia, NM is seeking a Corrosion Control Supervisor. The Corrosion Control Supervisor will be responsible for the management of our Midstream Corrosion Control Program elements. Supports continued development and implementation of the Corrosion Control elements associated with the Midstream Integrity Management Program.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all corrosion control of all Midstream Assets

  • Ensures that all Corrosion Control practices and procedures meet and/or exceed DOT and company Corrosion Control criteria

  • Manages Midstream Corrosion Control data and integrates with the overall Integrity Management Program

  • Active participant with other Integrity Managers and departments to implement Midstream Integrity Management goals

  • Coordinates and manages contracts and contract personnel as needed

  • Manages project schedules and budgets

  • Represents Midstream in regulatory and technical issues as needed

  • Leads or participates in developing Corrosion Control solutions and process improvements

  • Develops compliant standards, specifications and procedures required for an effective corrosion control program

  • Develops training curriculum and provides training in Corrosion Control requirements as needed

  • Implements Corrosion Risk Management principles in support of the Integrity Management Program

  • Acts as liaison with all parts of the organization involved with Corrosion Control activities, vendors and contractors

  • Active participant in reviewing promoting and influencing corrosion control practices and technology

  • Participates and represents Midstream in industry forums

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of eight years of Corrosion Control or Integrity related experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology, or technical discipline related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree is required.

Required Skills

Must be able to lead, supervise and train a small group of employees. Certification or specialized training in Corrosion Control is required. Must exhibit a thorough knowledge of regulations and industry practices. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Will supervise the work of a group of nonexempt corrosion technicians and exempt Corrosion Specialist. Responsible for managing contractors as needed.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 25% travel by land and air required. Out-of-doors environment and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, perceiving color differences, and wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted). Job conditions may require twisting stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing up to 50ft, and strenuous physical activity.
