Position Summary

This position is responsible for technical services to inmates to include effectively processing detainers, sentence computations, and releases of inmates. This position is in an ongoing learning mode for sentence computations and all related Records Office functions. The Corrections Sentencing Associate may assist with processing Public Record Requests.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule 02-12 for the Corrections Sentencing Associate position with the pay starting at $22.95 and 02-14 Corrections Sentencing Associate

  • Senior position with the pay starting at $26.83.

Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Performing mathematical calculations for specific work-related programs (e.g., budget preparation, accounting, offender sentence computations, etc.)

  • Utilizing computer programs (such as: Word, Excel Access, Outlook, etc.) for creating, updating, and maintain documents and databases

  • Experience maintaining, analyzing, and auditing of files according to established policies / procedures / statutes, etc."
