Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety (DMAPS)/ Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR)/ Prison Industries, Kanawha Co. - Under general supervision, performs work at the full-performance level. This position will serve as a sales representative for Correctional Industries within the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
This position will serve as a specialist in promoting Correctional Industries products. Will assist with the development of the yearly sales plan and maintain existing customer accounts for the following products including but not limited to: furniture, cleaning products, chairs, welded products, embroidery, signs, engraving, mattresses, inmate clothing, linens, upholstery, printing, pie and service. This position will work to expand the customer base through cold calls, non-profit organizations such as schools and pie and service.
Will be responsible for performing customer service follow-ups either in person or by phone, customer repairs and warranty work as needed. Will develop and present Correctional Industries product information at conferences, meetings and other venues. Will be responsible for maintaining the Correctional Industries website, showroom and display while also using electronic communication and social media to advertise Correctional Industries products and to attract customer interest.
Will provide weekly/monthly sales and marketing report detailing customers visits/calls, confirmed sales, customer service activities and other activities. Travel is required in state 50-60%; out of state travel will be 1-2%. Preference may be given to candidates with a working knowledge of sales and marketing practices and techniques. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in business administration or marketing.
Substitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in sales or marketing.
