These positions are responsible for food preparation including cooking, food distribution, food safety, and maintaining sanitation standards. Responsibilities also include training of patient workers and documenting performance in their treatment programs.
AM Shift is 4:30 am- 1:00 pm
PM Shift is 10:30 pm- 7:00 pm
Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) operates under a 24 hour schedule. Corrections Food Service Leader 2 (CFSL2) employees will either work AM or PM shifts with 1/2 hour unpaid break. CFSL2 employees must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed including staying for the next shift (up to 16 hours total in one shift) working additional shifts s assigned to maintain facility staffing requirements.
Physical requirements include:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to push and pull food cart on wheels
Physical strength, stamina, and repetitive motions to perform manual labor to bend, twist, reach, lift, and work on feet for sustained periods
Minimally qualified candidates will have:
Experience in safe food handling
Experience with food preparation or service
Experience training others
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
In addition, well-qualified candidates will also have:
Basic computer skills
Lead worker experience
Experience following a recipe for a modified diet
Experience cooking in large scale operation
