The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution(SCI) at Phoenix is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the required experience to work as Corrections Food Service Instructor.This position functions as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of pre-preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations and inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards.

Work Hours & Days

  • 12:00pm

  • 8:00pm, rotating weekends and holidays.

This position is 40 hours per week.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement.

Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,396.00 (before taxes)

If you are selected for hire and you are not a current Commonwealth employee, this position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of your employment. You are considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after your second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines) or two weeks after receiving a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., the Johnson & Johnson vaccine). Two years of experience in food preparation, production, and service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation;

OR

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements

2 years of experience in a large-scale food production operation in food preparation.

Preferred Qualifications (preferred but not required)

ServSafe food handler certification.

2 years of experience as a chef, sous chef or a line cook.

1 year experience working with modified, specialized or therapeutic diet.

1 year of food production experience in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, Military or correctional facility setting.

VIEW JOBS 1/6/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-06T00:00 The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Phoenix  is seeking a highly motivated Psychological Services Associate, Corrections to join our Psychology Department.As a Psychological Services Associate (PSA), Corrections, you will provide psychological services under the direct clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist Manager, to a population of individuals incarcerated in their assigned State Correctional Institution.  The purpose of this service delivery is to ensure individuals' mental health and general emotional needs are addressed efficiently and effectively during a period of incarceration with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.   You will be assisting the Licensed Psychologist Manager in planning and organizing outpatient mental health and psychological services for the State Correctional Institution, including the development and promulgation of patient's Individual Recovery Plans (i.e., treatment plans).
