This position is located at Piedmont Correctional Institution in Rowan County, NC. Piedmont Correctional Institution is a medium custody male facility.

The Administrative Officer III oversees the complete business function of the prison to include all fiscal and Human Resources operations.

This requires high level decision making based on knowledge of DAC and Prisons Policy as well as a through understanding of Prisons Operations.

This position serves on the management team and directly supervises subordinate staff responsible for the areas of budget, accounting, human resources, canteen, clothes house, maintenance, mailroom and trust fund.

Position is also responsible for gathering and analyzing data providing management level reports and information on a regular basis.

Position will work closely with the Warden to manage the facility budget and make decision regarding expenditures.

  • Management Preferences:

  • Experience working in North Carolina Department of Adult Correction or North Carolina Prisons.

  • Experience working with the Human Resources Integrated Payroll System (formerly BEACON).

  • Experience overseeing Business Operations or assisting a Management Level professional with oversight of a large or complex Business Operation.

Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.About the NC Dept. of Adult Correction (DAC):

The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.  This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision.  Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
