State Street is seeking a tax professional to join our corporate tax team in Boston, with a focus on the annual tax return filings and quarterly provision review. Working alongside a team of public accounting trained tax professionals, you'll have the opportunity to sharpen your tax technical skills at a multibillion dollar multinational corporation.
Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Tax, the Assistant Vice President will participate in all aspects of the Company's income tax compliance process. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for preparing workpapers and tax analyses to support the income tax returns and tax provision calculations for the Company. This includes the computation of book tax adjustments, technical tax research and the preparation of tax returns.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have strong tax technology and communication skills. Preparation and or review of the federal, international, and state and local income tax returns
Assist with the quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including return to provision reconciliation
Participate in the preparation and review of the quarterly federal and state and local tax estimates
Support tax controversy team with the data gathering requested by various taxing authorities
Complete other projects as required
4-7 years of recent experience in a tax department or public accounting firm
Exceptional academic record with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or Masters in Taxation is preferred
Demonstrated project management and analytical skills
Independent self-starter that can effectively partner with colleagues across numerous functions and geographic regions
Strong communication skills including the ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner
Strong Microsoft Office skills on Windows including: Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Experience with OneSource tax software and Oracle Hyperion is preferred
