Position: Corporate Shared Services Maintenance Planner

Overview:

The Corporate Shared Services Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in leading a centralized Planning and Scheduling Organization, aimed at fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement to achieve Maintenance Excellence. This position is crucial for supporting Site Maintenance and Operations Departments in budget development and management, forecasting, and optimizing maintenance strategies to align with Asset Strategy and Mine Plan requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and manage mid-range (12-week) and long-range (18+ week) maintenance work forecasting and tracking tools, ensuring alignment with organizational budget and goals.

  • Provide guidance and support to site maintenance planners in creating detailed maintenance work plans for various operations including PCRs, rebuilds, shutdowns, upgrades, major projects, services, and inspections.

  • Evaluate equipment documentation to delineate job steps and formulate comprehensive work plans.

  • Support short-range (6-week) work planning and schedule development, identifying training, coaching, and optimization opportunities.

  • Assist in mitigating delays by identifying material/logistic challenges and supporting delay mitigation strategies.

  • Offer backup on-site planning and scheduling support during critical site challenges.

  • Technology and Systems Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to improve Oracle Asset Activity and Preventive Maintenance Programs, including development, configuration, optimization, and automation.

  • Provide expertise, training, guidance, and support in the use of business applications (Oracle, Arrow, Xeras, Tableau, Trakka) to site maintenance employees.

  • Contribute to corporate standardization initiatives for Maintenance and Reliability Work Management processes, including system configurations and training.

  • Data Analytics & Reporting:

  • Extract, clean, and analyze maintenance data from various sources (equipment logs, work orders, sensor data, etc.) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Utilize statistical analysis, data modeling, and predictive analytics techniques to assess the health of assets and predict failure probabilities.

  • Design and develop user-friendly dashboards and visualizations using data analytics tools such as Tableau or other similar platforms. Present key maintenance metrics, KPIs, and performance trends to stakeholders, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assist in corporate maintenance and reliability audits to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.

  • Risk and Budget Management:

  • Participate in risk management efforts by tracking critical asset component lifecycles.

  • Support site teams with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) initiatives.

  • Support site teams with Maintenance budget preparations, forecasts, and budget performance reviews, identifying opportunities for cost savings/avoidance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling, preferably as a Tradesman/Engineer.

  • Experience with mining equipment maintenance (mobile, open pit, underground, and fixed plant) is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in PC use, word processing, and spreadsheets, with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Advanced experience with Oracle EAM, Scheduling Tools (Viziya/Arrow), Tableau, and Xeras is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate improvement opportunities with site maintenance leadership teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage complex situations and make informed decisions.

  • Understanding of production scheduling and capabilities.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is considered an asset.

  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and willingness to travel to various operations throughout the United States (Nevada, Alaska, South Dakota)
