Job Skills / Requirements

Position: Unarmed Security Officer

Location: Newark, NJ

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday. All shifts.

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

Must have SORA guard license.

CCURE security software experience preferred.

Primary Purpose and Function

The Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations with a focus on observing and reporting. Duties include, but are not limited to monitoring and reporting all activity, conducting foot patrols and/or vehicular patrols, depending on exterior areas; reporting suspicious activities, suspicious persons, writing detailed narrative reports, maintaining daily activity reports (DAR's), enforcing post orders, site rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and responding to emergency situations requiring security assistance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following are the duties that are necessary to satisfy the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

• Greet visitors and guests in a professional demeanor.

• Answer phones, monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems.

• Conduct interior and exterior tours of the facility.

• Log in visitor, vendors and contactors.

• Maintain daily log of post activities.

• Perform required escorts.

• Monitor the access control system.

• Perform post inspections.

• Superior customer service skill and professionalism.

• Excellent phone and communication skills.

• Moderate to advanced computer and technology skills.

• Valid N.J. SORA card.

• Customer Service Experience - ability to work individually or within a team.

• Holiday shifts will be required.

• Security experience preferred.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Proper telephone etiquette.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.
