Shift Opening: 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekend availability is required.

Rate of Pay: $19.00/hour*

  • Pay rates vary by contract, typical rates range from $16-19/hour. The rate shown here is for the contract described below, which is temporary and expected to run through October. Thereafter, employees will be migrated to other contracts within the company based on performance and other qualifications.

This position is part-time only (0-29 hours per week). However, additional hours can be offered based on your availability (pay rates will vary by contract).

This is NOT an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on the premises.

About this Contract:

Security Officers perform a variety of duties. This contract is a fire watch position at a high-end corporate headquarters, which requires security officers to sweep the entire building on foot once every 15 minutes. One foot patrol is about 1.2 miles spread out across four floors. Each officer is expected to walk about 12 miles per shift unless there is an incident. There are three shifts and three officers on each shift.

About the Uniform:

The dress code for this contract is business casual. That means dress pants and a collared shirt or other professional top. Legs must be fully covered. Shoes must be primarily black and designed for heavy walking. No open-toed shoes. No clothing with holes, graphic designs, or inappropriate depictions. When in doubt, dress conservatively. Clothing will be issued if necessary.

Other contracts will have varying uniform requirements. Security uniforms are provided at no cost when required by the contract, and must be returned at the end of employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067 §17(2).

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.

  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).

  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.

  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).

  • Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.

  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.

  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.

  • Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Part-Time Benefit Package (Not available to part-time on-call or temporary employees.)

Must be employed at least 1 year while maintaining an average of 20+ hours per week at the time of the eligibility check to become eligible for any benefits:
