CONTEXT: Our client is seeking a Corporate Sales Rep to increase sales of their automotivelubricant products, develop new account strategies and maintain/expand the existing business.


  • Develop customer account relationships with purchasing, research/development and operations personnel and monitor key market segment and projections.
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, networking, and announcements to determine the market needed to sell company products.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of new customers through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
  • Bring opportunities to a successful conclusion by coordinating the requirements, developing proposals, and negotiating contracts as necessary.
  • Create and deliver compelling, customer-centric presentations and demonstrations by connecting features to customer business capabilities and drivers.
  • Research the industry and competition to ensure the company is capitalizing on all potential market opportunities.
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build/maintain relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify all challenges of the customer to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.


  • BS degree
  • Solid technical understanding in lubricants for automotive
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in OEM
  • Prior experience in B2B sales
  • Ability to close deals, work independently and under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solver with the ability to multi-task while using analytical and decision-making skills.

While the position will focus on a particular Key Client of the firm, the selected candidate may also service other Houston-based accounts. The position will report to the EVP/Markets Leader for BCW’s West and South offices. </p> <p>The ideal candidate will have proven experience in corporate reputation and brand management, thought leadership and executive visibility, NGO and influencer programs and a working knowledge of the industry’s media landscape. Experience in issues and crisis communications would be a plus. This individual will have responsibility for client programs, growing existing client engagements and also contributing to BCW new business through individual networking and participation in new business presentations. </p> <p>This role requires an experienced communicator who has worked in the oil and gas and/or petrochemical industries. </p> <p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Overseeing all aspects of account management including building and maintaining client relationships, strategic planning, counsel, team management and organic client growth.</li> <li>Collaborating with leaders and team members across the BCW network. </li> <li>Supporting significant workstreams on complex, multi-office/regional accounts.</li> <li>Managing new business opportunities, working with BCW’s new business leaders.</li> <li>Counseling and building relationships with peers in the industry and with other lines of business across accounts to ensure alignment.</li> <li>Playing a lead role in developing staff and cultivating talent at all levels by creating succession plans and career tracking as well as providing mentorship and serving as coach for trainings and on-boarding.</li> </ul> <p></p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience </li> <li>Highly organized, able to manage multiple complex programs at the same time</li> <li>Strong written, oral and presentation skills</li> <li>Solid understanding of the digital landscape </li> <li>Able to navigate client relationships and cultivate relationships across the agency</li> <li>Ability to manage, mentor and grow junior staff </li> <li>Strong strategic thinking and counseling ability </li> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher </li> <li>Ability to travel for business (&lt;30%) </li> <li>Agency experience is preferred.</li> </ul> <p></p><p><strong>More about BCW:</strong></p> <p>BCW (Burson Cohn &amp; Wolfe) is one of the world’s largest full-service global communications agencies.
