As the Corporate Safety Manager, you will implement HNI Corporations Member Safety Philosophy and Member Safety Program as fundamental components of achieving our goal of being a Great Place to Work.
This role maintains compliance with HNI policies, procedures, processes and OSHA regulations. The Corporate Safety Manager monitors the workplace for unsafe conditions and recommends corrective or preventive actions appropriate for the relative level of risk. This includes preparing legally required reports and any regular or special reports for the organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance organization investigations. In addition, this role performs as liaison with state and local regulatory agencies and health care providers.
Essential Position Functions:
Develops and oversees implementation across the Corporation of safety compliance management systems.
Is a champion for continual improvement in safety performance.
Builds effective partnerships with members at all levels of the organization. Acts as liaison with and between HNI facilities with the intent of building enthusiasm and support for HNI Member Safety Philosophy
Completes internal audits of regulatory compliance and emphasizes adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
Monitors changes in facility operations to minimize risk and ensure facilities are prepared to respond to and recover from an unplanned event.
Monitors state and local regulation, and implement policy, procedures, programs and training materials for implementation in HNI facilities.
Maintains systems for collection of appropriate safety metrics.
Compiles metrics, KPI and prepare reports concerning facility activities for internal and external use.
Evaluates and recommends changes in material, manufacturing methods and operational procedure in assigned area of responsibility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
